We believe rope is for everyone! Whether an intimacy practice, a somatic practice, an artistic practice, or hobby/lifestyle tool! Perhaps you are a shape shifter and rope has multiple modalities.     A self tying, meditative, deep breathing practice with rope bondage as our somatic teacher, leader, and celebration of body, mind, spirit.

  • Rope Jam + Open Practice

    We will now offer our Open Practice and Rope Jam concurrently!

    Vibe out with us in a space of rope practice + play, smooth jams, and social connection. Rope Jam is a gathering for rope lovers and the curious to sink in, explore, and play.

    You can dive right into our own practice and exploration or join us for a foundations discussion and basic rope demo hosted by The Collective’s experienced practitioners.

    Come by yourself, with a partner, multiple partners, or friends!There is no pressure, expectations, or requirements with how much you want to engage. All Levels are welcome.

  • Rope Botanica // Still Life + Art Night

    Join us for a unique rope experience blending botanical beauty with bondage art. In this lush, all-levels workshop, we’ll explore rope adornment using flowers, ferns, herbs, and leaves.

    Bring your vision to life using flora to embellish your ties. A photo area will be available to capture your finished work. You may also come as an artist! Whether you’d like to photograph, sketch, draw, paint, or observe the art! As long as it is consensual, we encourage all creation.

    Self-tie and partnered tie options welcome. All genders, bodies, and experience levels are celebrated here!

    Join us for a rope night centering LGBTQIA+ and trusted folk of all experience levels! *we request that only Queer folk or those explicitly asked to accompany attend this night to create a safer container for those who need it.

    This event features both an open practice/ rope jam for those ready to dive into their practice and a guided foundations of rope for beginners or anyone wanting a refresher.

    Learn the basics of rope bondage—from foundational knots to key safety practices—all shared through a queer-affirming lens.

    A lecture and discussion on the origins and practices of kink within spiritual and cultural traditions from indigenous societies and world religions.

    You, Me, Us is a monthly munch-style discourse series where we gather to share food, learn together, and dive into the conversations that shape kink culture. Each session blends social time, a short educational talk, and a guided group discussion.

    Potluck contributions are optional but encouraged — sharing food is a great way to connect before the conversation begins.

  • Rope Handling

    In this class, we will review the foundations before diving into how to handle rope before we learn patterns so our application is efficient and intention. This class focuses on fluidity and confidence, teaching techniques to avoid twists, build even tension, start and finish ties, and create simple yet effective structures.

    Prerequisite Classes:

    Foundations of Rope or must test out.

    Required Foreknowledge:

    Basic knowledge of foundations including: informed consent, negotiation, aftercare, vetting

    Basic Safety risk knowledge including nerve impingement and loss of circulation.

  • Knots + Frictions

    Adding rope tying skills to your répétiteur by mastering essential knots, tension control, lock-offs, and friction ties—the foundational elements behind most rope bondage patterns.

    Through detailed explanations and hands-on practice, you’ll learn to create secure and visually striking structures that serve as building blocks for your rope journey.

    Prerequisite Classes:

    Foundations of Rope, Rope Handling, or must test out.

    Required Foreknowledge:

    Basic knowledge of foundations including: informed consent, negotiation, aftercare, vetting

    Basic Safety risk knowledge including nerve impingement and loss of circulation.

  • Booty Baskets

    ALL ABOUT THE BOOTY!! This class in The Pattern Series is all about the booty basket - a fun, comfy, versatile tie that is just yummy! You will learn different variations on this tie that incorporate one or both legs, with different modifications and adaptations to make the tie more useful, aesthetically pleasing, and accommodating for the body you are putting it in!

  • Futomomos

    Futomomos are a classic shibari (Japanese style rope bondage) tie! With many variations and styles - this folded leg tie is iconic and a favorite of many and pairs beautifully for many different types of sequences on the floor, in partial, or full suspension.

  • Binds + Ladders

    Binds + Ladders is a class focused on patterns which create a binding force whether around a limb, body, or bringing together multiple limbs or body parts. This pattern is something essential for every tying human to have under their belt with proficiency.

  • Box Ties

    One of the most iconic ties and DEFINITELY the most dangerous! Learn the ins and outs of this hands behind the back position: why we love and fear it equally and how to tie it as safely as possible with regard to its intricacies. Learn why modifications and risk migration is a non-negotiable in this tie and how to make the right choices for you and your partner.

The Vibe Series

  • Ichinawa

    Ichinawa is a practice with only one rope and the concept of ichinawa is a shibari (Japanese style rope bondage) that is focused on the interconnectedness of two people tying, and minimal focus on the technical aspect.

  • The Masochist's Guide to Sadism

    Every good sadist has the moment where they wonder… am I a monster? Is it okay to like inflicting pain? Is there something wrong with me?

    THE ANSWER IS NO as long as it is consensual, enjoyed, and encouraged by a happy little masochist! The perfect pairing: those who like to explore receiving the sensation of “pain” and those who like to give that sensation. This guide to sadism is from the perspective of the masochist, giving an insider view of how a masochist experiences pain, processes, and transforms the sensation with their body, mind, spirit connection!

  • The Marriage of Heaven + Hell

    a rope workshop that explores the range of sensation and why different ends of the spectrum pair together powerfully. We’ll explore and discuss the juxtaposition of pleasure and pain - highlighting what occurs in the brain through these experiences. Marrying together theory/science and rope practices that showcase these principles: this workshop will focus on creating a balance in your scenes and practice that deepens and elevates the sensations you are incorporating.
