Say Farewell with us to our 1st home studio with a sweet and intimate rope jam as we share in memory and vision for our future home. If you know the history of The Rope Collective… we began as a little monthly invite only rope jam in the living room / backyard of founder Toni Brianna Guida Wendel… once we got too big, we started hosting them at artist and creator Gabriella’s home… we soon realized there was a hunger to LEARN rope in San Diego and a lack of a zen, comfortable, and welcoming space to learn. This is when we were offered the back room of a vintage store in Chula Vista ( shout out Upright Citizen!) and The Rope Collective was born! Since then we have seen so many iterations: virtual all through COVID, bouncing from venue to venue, and in 2022 we opened our first brick and mortar: The Barrio Logan studio!
It has been a wild, dreamy, challenging, juicy ride ya’ll!! However now we must evolve out of this space and into something new. Change can be scary but we know from experience: this is just the beginning of a new blossoming adventure for The Rope Collective. We love you San Diego, and we love this second home for so many we have built together: REAL community. Messy, raw, authentic community.
Join us for an homage to our roots in the studio one last time! Rope Jam!! No experience or partner required. There is no dedicated demos or lesson plan however if you are new there will be facilitators to go over safety, foundations, and teach some basic ties! We also hope to see you next month and beyond at DRIP CREATIVE STUDIOS on Tuesday and Friday nights!! Our temporary home as we find the perfect new location.
