You, Me, Us is a monthly munch-style discourse series where we gather to share food, learn together, and dive into the conversations that shape kink culture. Each session blends social time, a short educational talk, and a guided group discussion.
This month’s focus is: Handling Trauma Responses in Kink. Trauma can surface in unexpected ways during play, showing up as fight, flight, freeze, or fawn responses. Our guiding question will be: “What do you do if you discover a new trigger during a scene? Whose responsibility is it to notice harm?” This session is for everyone — whether you’ve lived through trauma yourself, want to better understand how to support others, or simply want to build trauma-informed awareness as part of your kink practice.
No one is expected to share personal trauma to participate.
Schedule: First 30 min – Social
Munch: Arrive, mingle, optional potluck snacks/drinks.
Next 30 min – Education: A short talk on trauma responses, negotiation strategies, and grounding.
Break 10 min
Remainder – Discussion: Open group conversation exploring our guiding question and community practices.
Goals:
-Recognizing trauma responses in yourself and others
-Negotiating with trauma awareness in mind
-What to do when you don’t know what you need in the moment
-Building compassionate, trauma-informed kink communities
Potluck contributions are optional but encouraged — sharing food is a great way to connect before we dive in.
